42 and Loving It!
Apparently I had a birthday over the weekend. It was nice and low-key, just the way I like them. Debby and the girls and I went to San Diego for the day to see "A Catered Affair" at the Old Globe Theater. The show was wonderful but the best part is that one of our friends is the star of the show and we had dinner with her afterwards. What more could a guy want than to have dinner with four gorgeous women? Great conversation, great Italian food and lots of laughs and love.
One of my young punk ass friends (translation: under 30 years old) texted me on Saturday asking if turning 42 makes me feel old or did I come to terms with that when I turned 40. What I already knew was that turning 40 and 41 definitely made me feel old, the old that you think of your parents as. But now, I feel like the adult that I have become. Yes, I am a kid at heart...I hope to never grow out of that, but when I look in the mirror and see some of my father staring back at me I like it. I have arrived at a great place in my life. I have much to be thankful for and despite the loss of hair and expanding waistline I am loving life and very happy to be here.
