Thoughts I Try to Live By

Life is not a dress rehersal.

Things have a way of working themselves out.

When in doubt, don't.

Kill them with kindness.

Never be afraid to ask questions. Even stupid ones.

Do the right thing even when no one is watching. It's the right thing to do.

Mother Nature will remind us that she is the boss.

When you have to say no to a request try not to use the word no.

Play to win, but be graceful in victory.

Set good examples for children.

You are never too old to say please or thank you.

Hard work never goes to waste.

Own anything you commit to.

Never let anyone, including yourself, tarnish your name or reputation.

Chivalry is not dead.

Plan for the future but enjoy today.

If you do not like yourself, no one else will either.

Without action, words are just that.

Don't bring children into this world unless you plan to love them with all your heart and support them with all your might.

I like my children spoiled. Just not rotten.

No one chooses to be stupid but people make stupid choices.

You can have too much education. You can never have too much common sense.

As much as change sometimes sucks, change is a good thing.

Indulge yourself, you deserve it.

Live within your means, but strive as high as you want to live.

If it has meaning in your life, be in it for the long haul and not the quick kill.

No matter how hard you try, some people will need to learn things the hard way.

Ignorance is not an excuse, stupidity might be.

Be honest, but be polite.

Know when you are being petty about things.

If being a creature of habit makes you happy that's all that matters.

Of course we care what other people think of us, but try not to let it go to your head or ruin your day.

Don't criticize the driver unless you are willing to take a turn behind the wheel.

Take the high road. Wait until you get home to gloat.

Play the cards that you are dealt.

Look long enough to see the big picture.

What the heck, try to make them laugh.

Never underestimate the value of a good cliche.

Just Suck, Baby

That smell coming from Northern California is the hapless Oakland Raiders football team. They stunk up the joint but good last night in one of the worst games I have ever seen an offense play. I sure am glad that they did not draft Matt Leinert of USC with the 5th pick when they had the chance. Aaron Brooks at quarterback is a solid choice. If you like seeing your QB pummeled. Yes the line has to block, but dear God man, throw the F-ing ball away instead of letting them pulverize you. The only upside to this debacle of a team is that maybe the toll of this long season will finally sideline Al Davis once and for all.
